Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini – Easy Holiday Cocktail

Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini
If there is one flavor combination that feels like it was made for Christmas, it has to be chocolate and orange. This Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini is rich, creamy, chocolatey, and has just enough citrus flavor to brighten everything up. It honestly tastes like one of those chocolate orange candies turned into a Christmas cocktail!
I love serving dessert-style martinis during the holidays because they feel a little extra special without being difficult to make. If you love creamy Christmas cocktails too, you’ll definitely want to try my Christmas Cookie Cocktail and my Gingerbread Holiday Martini. Both are perfect for Christmas parties or a cozy holiday night at home.
An Easy Christmas Dessert Cocktail
One of the best things about this Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini is how simple it is.
You only need four main ingredients: vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, orange liqueur, and half-and-half.
Everything gets shaken together with ice and strained into a chilled martini glass. Add a chocolate orange wedge to the rim and you have such a pretty Christmas cocktail in just a few minutes.
It’s one of those drinks that looks impressive enough for a holiday party but is actually incredibly easy to make.
What Does a Chocolate Orange Martini Taste Like?
If you love chocolate orange candy, you already have a pretty good idea of where we’re going with this one!
The chocolate liqueur gives the cocktail that rich dessert flavor while the orange liqueur cuts through some of the sweetness with a bright citrus note.
Vanilla vodka adds a little extra sweetness and warmth, while the half-and-half makes everything smooth and creamy.
You still get plenty of chocolate flavor, but that little burst of orange keeps the martini from feeling too heavy.
Perfect for Christmas Entertaining
I especially love this martini for Christmas because chocolate and orange are such classic holiday flavors.
You could make these for a Christmas cocktail party, girls’ night, Christmas Eve, holiday dinner, or even serve them as an after-dinner cocktail instead of dessert.
And if you’re putting together a full Christmas cocktail menu, add something completely different like my Clausmopolitan Cocktail Martini for guests who prefer something lighter and fruitier.
For a bigger gathering where you want something guests can serve themselves, my Christmas Punch is another great option.
How to Garnish a Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini
The garnish is one of my favorite parts of this cocktail.
A chocolate orange wedge sitting right on the edge of the martini glass immediately tells everyone exactly what flavors are inside.
You could also drizzle a little chocolate syrup inside the glass before pouring the cocktail or add some finely shaved chocolate over the top.
For Christmas, you can even add a few festive sprinkles around part of the rim.
I wouldn’t go too crazy with the garnish, though. This martini already has plenty of flavor and I love keeping that chocolate orange wedge as the star.
Can I Make These Ahead of Time?
You can combine the vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, orange liqueur, and half-and-half ahead of time and refrigerate the mixture until you’re ready to serve.
When your guests are ready for a cocktail, pour one serving into a shaker filled with ice, shake until really cold, and strain it into a chilled martini glass.
I still recommend shaking each serving with ice rather than completely preparing the martinis ahead of time. You’ll get a much colder, smoother drink.
More Chocolate Cocktail Ideas
If chocolate cocktails are your thing, you also need to try my Chocolate Hazelnut Espresso Martini.
That one combines chocolate, hazelnut, espresso, and Irish cream and is basically dessert in a glass. It would be so good alongside this Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini if you’re doing a holiday martini night.
You can even set up a little dessert cocktail station and let everyone choose their favorite.
The Perfect Chocolate Orange Christmas Cocktail
This Chocolate Orange Christmas Martini is definitely one I’ll be making throughout the holiday season.
It’s creamy and chocolatey with just enough orange flavor, takes only a few minutes to make, and looks absolutely beautiful when you add that chocolate orange garnish.
Whether you’re serving it at a big Christmas party or making one while you’re home watching Christmas movies, it’s an easy little holiday treat that feels extra festive.
Cheers and Merry Christmas!
