
Ingredients
1/2 stick of butter
1 whole yellow onion chopped
4 cloves of garlic minced
1 lb ground chicken sausage
6 – 8 cups of chicken broth
A large handful of chopped kale
Orzo
2 lemons
1/2 cup heavy cream
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Parmesan Cheese
Directions
- In your soup pot add your butter and melt down a bit
- Next add in your onions and cook until translucent. About 2 – 3 minutes
- Add in your garlic and let cook off for about a minute.
- Next add in your sausage and cook until fully cooked through.
- You can remove your sausage from the pan and pour in your orzo. I like to toast up the orzo a bit before adding the chicken broth. (you can also add in your orzo as you are cooking your sausage or cook your sausage in a separate pan.)
- Squeeze 2 whole lemons over the orzo and cook off a bit.
- Next add in your chicken broth and bring to a boil. Continue to boil and stir until your orzo is fully cooked.
- Add in your heavy cream and kale.
- Add in your spices and parmesan cheese. Adjust to your liking.
- Enjoy!
