Midnight Cherry Chocolate Punch

If you’re looking for a Halloween cocktail that is a little spooky, a little decadent, and completely different from the typical fruity party punch, this Midnight Cherry Chocolate Punch is SO good. It’s creamy, chocolatey, filled with that classic chocolate-covered cherry flavor, and has the prettiest dark, dramatic look for Halloween.

I love having a few completely different cocktails to choose from when I’m entertaining, and this one would be so fun served alongside my Hocus Pocus Purple Punch, Vampire’s Kiss Punch, or Poison Apple Halloween Punch. You could set out two or three different drink dispensers and have the cutest Halloween cocktail bar for your guests.

What I especially love about this punch is that it feels almost like a dessert and a cocktail in one. Chocolate and cherry are such a classic combination, and adding vanilla vodka makes everything taste even richer and smoother.

A Creamy Halloween Punch for a Crowd

I make so many fruity and sparkling punches for parties, but sometimes I want something completely different.

This Midnight Cherry Chocolate Punch is rich and creamy without being complicated to make. You basically whisk everything together, chill it, and pour it into your serving dispenser when you’re ready for the party.

And because it’s a batched cocktail, you’re not stuck making individual drinks all night—which is always a huge plus for me when I’m entertaining.

It would be perfect for a Halloween party, spooky girls’ night, Halloween dinner, costume party, or even a Halloween movie marathon.

It Tastes Like a Chocolate-Covered Cherry

The inspiration for this punch really comes from those chocolate-covered cherry candies.

Chocolate liqueur and chocolate syrup give you that rich chocolate flavor, while cherry liqueur adds just enough cherry without making the drink taste overly fruity. Vanilla vodka ties everything together, and the milk and half-and-half turn it into this smooth, creamy dessert cocktail.

If you love creamy cocktails, this is definitely one to add to your Halloween list.

Make It Look Extra Spooky

Presentation is half the fun with Halloween cocktails!

I love serving this punch in a clear glass drink dispenser so you can really see that dark chocolate color. You can drizzle chocolate syrup around the inside of the dispenser or serving glasses for an extra chocolatey look.

Then set everything out on a dark tray with black candles, mini pumpkins, Halloween décor, or even a few cocktail cherries scattered around the serving area.

You don’t need to make it overly creepy. A darker, moodier setup makes this cocktail look Halloween-ready while still keeping everything pretty.

An Easy Make-Ahead Halloween Cocktail

This is also a great cocktail to prepare ahead of time.

Mix the entire batch together and refrigerate it until your guests arrive. Since there’s nothing sparkling in this recipe, you don’t have to worry about anything going flat while it sits.

Just give the punch another really good stir before serving because the chocolate can settle slightly as it chills.

I would keep the ice out of the actual drink dispenser and let everyone add ice to their individual glasses instead. That way the punch stays creamy and doesn’t become watered down throughout the night.

Create a Halloween Cocktail Bar

If you’re having a bigger Halloween party, set this creamy chocolate punch next to something fruity for completely different options.

My Midnight Blackberry Punch would be such a pretty contrast because of its deep purple color, while the Vampire’s Kiss Punch gives you that dramatic Halloween red.

Add glasses, bowls of garnishes, plenty of ice, and some candles around the drink dispensers and you basically have an entire Halloween cocktail station without having to play bartender all night.

Midnight Cherry Chocolate Punch

Creamy, rich, and just spooky enough for Halloween, this Midnight Cherry Chocolate Punch tastes like a boozy chocolate-covered cherry. It’s incredibly easy to make for a crowd and looks so pretty served in a glass drink dispenser with chocolate drizzle and cocktail cherries.

Whether you’re throwing a big Halloween party or having a few friends over for a spooky movie night, this is one of those fun seasonal cocktails that feels extra special without requiring a ton of work.

Servings

10-12

servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla vodka

  • 1 cup chocolate liqueur

  • 1/2 cup cherry liqueur

  • 3 cups whole milk

  • 1 cup half and half

  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup

  • Additional chocolate syrup for drizzling the glasses, optional

  • Ice, for serving

  • Cocktail cherries, for garnish

Directions

  • Combine the creamy ingredients. Add the whole milk, half-and-half, and chocolate syrup to a large pitcher or mixing bowl. Whisk really well until the chocolate syrup is completely incorporated
  • Add the alcohol. Pour in the vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, and cherry liqueur.
Mix the punch. Stir everything together really well until smooth and completely combined.
  • Chill. Refrigerate the punch until you’re ready to serve. I recommend giving it at least an hour to get nice and cold.
  • Prepare the glasses. Drizzle a little chocolate syrup around the inside of each serving glass for that extra chocolatey, dramatic Halloween look.
  • Stir before serving. Give the punch another good stir before transferring it to your drink dispenser or punch bowl.
Serve. Fill individual glasses with ice and pour the Midnight Cherry Chocolate Punch over the top.
  • Garnish. Finish each glass with one or two cocktail cherries and serve immediately.
  • Tip: Keep the ice in the individual glasses instead of adding it directly to the drink dispenser. This keeps your punch creamy and prevents it from becoming watered down as the party goes on.
