Peppermint Chocolate Truffle Martini

There is something about chocolate and peppermint together that immediately makes it feel like Christmas! Add a chocolate-drizzled glass and a crushed candy cane rim, and you have the prettiest little holiday cocktail. This Peppermint Chocolate Truffle Martini is creamy, chocolatey, and perfect for those nights when you want your drink to double as dessert.

I love a festive cocktail that looks special without needing a long list of ingredients or a ton of prep. This one combines RumChata Peppermint Bark, Baileys Irish Cream, chocolate liqueur, vodka, and a splash of half-and-half. The combination gives it that rich, dessert-inspired flavor with a little peppermint in every sip.

Whether you’re planning a Christmas girls’ night, hosting a holiday dinner, or settling in for a Christmas movie, this is such a fun cocktail to add to the evening.

A Creamy Christmas Cocktail for Chocolate Lovers

If you love the combination of peppermint bark and creamy chocolate truffles, this martini brings those flavors together in a glass. The chocolate liqueur gives it a rich chocolate base, while the Baileys and half-and-half create a smooth, creamy finish.

The RumChata Peppermint Bark brings in the holiday flavor without needing a separate peppermint syrup or peppermint schnapps. A little vodka rounds out the cocktail, and the candy cane rim adds a sweet peppermint crunch.

Despite the name, you don’t need to melt chocolate or make actual truffles for this recipe. It’s a simple shake-and-strain cocktail with a festive presentation!

It’s All About the Glass

You know I love a cute cocktail presentation, and this one is so easy to dress up. A drizzle of chocolate syrup inside the glass gives it that chocolate-shop look, while crushed candy canes around the rim make it feel extra festive.

Crush the candy canes fairly finely so they stick more easily and are comfortable to sip from. You can also decorate just half of the rim, which looks pretty and gives you a choice of sipping with or without the candy.

A chilled martini glass or coupe is perfect for serving. The chocolate drizzle shows beautifully through the glass, so you really don’t need much else.

If you’re putting together a holiday cocktail menu, my Candy Cane Martini is another festive recipe to add to your list.

Tips for the Best Peppermint Chocolate Truffle Martini

Start with chilled ingredients. Keeping the cream and cream liqueurs cold helps you get a nicely chilled cocktail without relying on extra shaking time.

Measure the ingredients. With several sweet, creamy ingredients in one drink, measuring helps keep the flavors balanced.

Give it a good shake. Shake with plenty of ice until the shaker feels very cold. This blends the ingredients and gives the cocktail a lightly frothy finish.

Decorate the glass before shaking. Having your glass ready means you can strain and serve the martini as soon as it’s chilled.

Serve right away. This is best enjoyed freshly shaken, while it’s cold and the candy cane rim still has its crunch.

When to Serve This Christmas Martini

This peppermint chocolate martini makes a lovely after-dinner cocktail, especially if you’re serving Christmas cookies, brownies, or a platter of chocolate-covered treats.

For a girls’ night, set out the decorated glasses alongside a small dessert board. The chocolate drizzle and candy cane rims make the drinks feel like part of the holiday table.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this martini contain coffee?

No! This peppermint chocolate truffle martini does not call for coffee or espresso. Its flavor comes from chocolate liqueur, Baileys, and RumChata Peppermint Bark.

Can I use regular RumChata?

Regular RumChata will change the flavor because this recipe relies on the Peppermint Bark variety for its peppermint taste. Use RumChata Peppermint Bark for the intended chocolate-and-peppermint combination.

What kind of chocolate liqueur should I use?

Choose a chocolate liqueur you enjoy. A creamy chocolate liqueur will make the drink especially rich, while crème de cacao will give it a different texture and level of sweetness.

Can I make two at once?

Yes! Double the liquid ingredients and shake together if your shaker has enough room for both drinks and plenty of ice. Otherwise, shake each serving separately.

Can I prepare it ahead of time?

You can measure and combine the liquid ingredients ahead of time and keep the mixture covered in the refrigerator. Shake each serving with ice just before serving, and add the candy cane rim close to serving time so it stays crisp.
