Salted Pumpkin Mocha Espresso Martini
The minute fall rolls around, I am ready for all things pumpkin, espresso, and cozy cocktails. I already love making drinks like my Brown Sugar Espresso Martini, Caramel Apple Cider Martini, and Oatmeal Cookie Martini, but this Salted Pumpkin Mocha Espresso Martini has quickly become another favorite. It has everything I want in a fall cocktail—rich espresso, pumpkin spice, chocolate, a little creaminess, and just a touch of salt to balance it all out.
I love creating seasonal cocktails, especially in the fall. There are just so many flavors to work with, and somehow adding pumpkin, cinnamon, caramel, or maple to a cocktail immediately makes it feel a little more special. This one is perfect when I’m not entertaining a huge crowd and just want to make one really good cocktail.
For your next Gathering here is a batched recipe of this cocktail!
The Perfect Pumpkin Espresso Martini for Fall
What I really love about this pumpkin espresso martini is that you can actually taste the espresso. I didn’t want the pumpkin or chocolate to completely take over the drink.
Instead, you get a little bit of everything. There’s the deep coffee flavor from the espresso, chocolate gives it that mocha flavor, and the pumpkin adds just enough warm fall spice.
And then there’s the salt.
It’s only a tiny amount, but I think it makes the entire cocktail. It balances the sweetness and brings out both the chocolate and espresso. If you love a sweet-and-salty combination as much as I do, don’t skip it!

An Easy Fall Cocktail with Pumpkin Reàl
For this cocktail, I use Pumpkin Reàl Pumpkin Puree Infused Syrup, and I love how easy it makes everything.
I really didn’t want to open a can of pumpkin puree every time I wanted one martini. The Pumpkin Reàl gives me that pumpkin flavor while keeping this cocktail incredibly easy to shake up.
It also works so well with the mocha and coffee flavors. The end result reminds me of a boozy pumpkin mocha from your favorite coffee shop, except served in a pretty coupe glass—which makes everything better.
Perfect for a Cozy Fall Night
As much as I love entertaining and making big batched cocktails for a crowd, sometimes I just want ONE cocktail.
This is the kind of drink I would make on a chilly Friday or Saturday night when we’re home, dinner is cooking, the candles are lit, and I’m officially in full fall mode.
It would also be such a fun cocktail for a fall girls’ night, date night, Halloween party, or even as an after-dinner drink on Thanksgiving. Since it has that espresso flavor, I especially love the idea of serving it later in the evening with dessert.
And if I am having a larger group over, I make my Salted Pumpkin Mocha Espresso Punch instead. It has those same cozy flavors but is made as a big batch so I’m not standing in the kitchen shaking espresso martinis all night.
Shake It Really Well!
One thing I always do with an espresso martini is give it a REALLY good shake.
You want everything to get ice cold, but a good shake also helps create that beautiful frothy layer on top. It’s one of my favorite parts of an espresso martini.
I love serving this one in a coupe glass and finishing it with a little chocolate on top. It makes such a simple cocktail look like something you ordered at a restaurant.
MAKE IT FOR A CROWD HERE
A New Favorite Fall Espresso Martini
I make a lot of fall cocktail recipes, but this Salted Pumpkin Mocha Espresso Martini checks all the boxes for me. It’s creamy, cozy, full of pumpkin spice and espresso flavor, and has just enough chocolate to make it feel a little indulgent.
If you love pumpkin cocktails and coffee cocktails, this is such a fun one to add to your fall drink list. And if you’re in the mood for something completely different but still perfect for the season, my Fall Apple Cider Sangria is another one I love making once the weather cools down.
This is definitely one I’ll be making throughout pumpkin season—and probably well beyond it.
GRAB YOUR PUMPKIN SPICE SYRUP HERE
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz Vanilla Vodka
3/4 oz Kahlua
1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, cooled slightly
1/2 oz Pumpkin Spice Syrup
1/2 oz Chocolate Syrup
1/2 oz half and half
tiny pinch of salt
Ice
Directions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add the vanilla vodka, Kahlúa, espresso, Pumpkin Reàl, chocolate syrup, half-and-half, and a tiny pinch of sea salt. - Shake REALLY well. I like to shake an espresso martini longer than you think you need to because that’s what gets everything ice cold and gives the drink that pretty frothy top.
- Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass.
- Finish with a few chocolate shavings, a tiny dusting of cocoa powder, or three espresso beans.
