Ingredients In A Coconut Margarita
TEQUILA
When making any Classic Margarita make sure to always get a high quality Tequila. You don’t have to break the bank, but definitely don’t go for bottom shelf on this!
ORANGE LIQUEUR
Cointreau is always my first choice and is the best, however if you don’t want to spend $30 or so on a bottle, then you can go with Triple Sec! It’s a great less expensive brand!
LIME JUICE
My advice – don’t ever buy lime juice on the shelf. ALWAYS use freshly squeezed lime juice in any drink or cocktail you may make!
AGAVE
This syrup will help sweeten this coconut margarita up and give it that perfect flavor! Agave is a better choice and much lighter choice of a sweetener than plain sugar for any cocktail.
COCONUT CREAM OR COCONUT MILK
It’s best to use cream of coconut for this recipe, mostly for the consistency! However, if you like coconut milk better by all means that will work as well!
Tools Needed To Make A Coconut Margarita
What Kind Of Tequila Should I Use?
When searching for the right Tequila, always keep in mind quality and taste. Repasado is a light aging tequila that helps balance all flavors used along with it. This type of tequila would be used best in a margarita such as this Coconut Margarita as there are many different flavors expressing themselves through one drink. The heart of the margarita lies in the Tequila used. Be wise with your choice, but always know that any high quality brand will bring you a tasty and vibrant cocktail!

Garnishes For This Margarita Recipe
LIMES
A fresh lime slice will always spruce up any cocktail you are serving. Especially when it comes to a margarita. So make sure to get the ripest limes and use them the same day you cut into them!
COCONUT FLAKES
This garnish is optional, however, the fresh coconut flakes truly brings this to that professional level that you may want for all your guests!
Why Agave In A Margarita?
Agave is a wonderful sweetener that will transform your drink of choice into a much more delightful tasting cocktail. Without all the added junk as normal sugar or syrups, Agave is a great choice to keep things sweet, but also mild and on the “healthier” side.
