Mistletoe Cranberry Gin Fizz – Easy Christmas Gin Cocktail

If you’re looking for a Christmas cocktail that feels festive and pretty without being overly complicated, this Mistletoe Cranberry Gin Fizz is such a good one to add to your holiday drink list.

It’s light, bubbly, a little tart, a little sweet, and has the prettiest cranberry-red color. The combination of gin, cranberry juice, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, and sparkling club soda makes this one incredibly easy to drink — especially if you’re looking for something a little lighter after all of those rich holiday desserts and creamy Christmas cocktails.

I love making cranberry drinks around the holidays because they automatically look festive. If you love them too, definitely try my Cranberry Orange Vodka Spritz next. It’s another easy drink that works beautifully for Thanksgiving straight through Christmas.

The Perfect Easy Christmas Cocktail

One of my favorite things about this Mistletoe Cranberry Gin Fizz is that it looks like you put a lot more effort into it than you actually did.

The bright cranberry color, sparkling bubbles, rosemary, and fresh cranberries make the finished cocktail look so pretty on a holiday table. I like serving it in a tall glass with a sugared rim and plenty of ice.

And while I absolutely love my creamy holiday cocktails, sometimes it’s nice to have something refreshing and bubbly mixed in too.

If you’re planning an entire holiday cocktail menu, you can serve this alongside some richer drinks so everyone has something completely different to choose from.

What Does a Cranberry Gin Fizz Taste Like?

This cocktail has a really nice balance of flavors.

The gin gives it those classic botanical notes, while cranberry juice adds sweetness and tartness. Elderflower liqueur gives the drink just a hint of floral sweetness without taking over the entire cocktail.

Fresh lime juice brightens everything up, and the club soda gives it that light fizzy finish.

The result is refreshing, festive, and not overly sweet.

Why I Love Elderflower Liqueur in This Cocktail

Elderflower liqueur is one of my favorite ways to dress up a simple cocktail because you don’t need much of it.

Just a half ounce adds a soft floral sweetness that works so well with both cranberry and gin.

It also makes this Mistletoe Cranberry Gin Fizz taste a little more special than a basic cranberry-and-gin cocktail, which is exactly what I want when I’m serving drinks during Christmas.

Make It Extra Festive

For Christmas, presentation is half the fun!

I like to rim the glass with a little sugar first. Then once the cocktail is poured, add a sprig of fresh rosemary and a few cranberries.

The rosemary almost looks like a tiny Christmas tree branch, and paired with the red cranberries it gives the drink that perfect red-and-green holiday look without having to do anything complicated.

You could also thread a few cranberries onto a cocktail pick for an easy garnish.

When to Serve a Mistletoe Cranberry Gin Fizz

This is one of those drinks that can work for almost any holiday occasion.

Serve it for a Christmas cocktail party, girls’ night, Christmas Eve, holiday brunch, an office holiday party, or even as a signature drink before Christmas dinner.

I especially love it as a welcome cocktail because it’s refreshing rather than heavy.

If you’re putting together a bigger seasonal drink menu, my Cranberry Vanilla Fall Sangria is another cranberry cocktail that’s perfect for entertaining a crowd.

Can I Make It Ahead?

Because this is a fizzy cocktail, I recommend making each drink right before serving.

You can absolutely prep some of the components ahead of time, though. Have your cranberry juice chilled, cut your limes, wash your rosemary, and make your cranberry garnishes before everyone arrives.

Then all you have to do is shake the main cocktail ingredients, pour, and top with club soda.

It only takes a couple of minutes, which is exactly what I want when I’m entertaining.

A Simple Holiday Gin Cocktail Everyone Will Love

The Mistletoe Cranberry Gin Fizz has everything I love in a Christmas cocktail: it’s beautiful, easy, refreshing, and festive without requiring a long list of ingredients.

The cranberry, lime, and elderflower work perfectly with the gin, and that splash of club soda keeps everything light and bubbly.

Add the sugared rim, fresh rosemary, and cranberries and you have a Christmas cocktail that looks gorgeous enough for a holiday party but is easy enough to make at home any night during the Christmas season.

Cheers and Merry Christmas!
