This cocktail takes no skill to make! It’s literally so simple and easy, and is done within minutes! Just grab your few ingredients you will need and get to mixing!
Ingredients You Will Need To Make A Coconut Mojito
RUM
You can either use regular white rum or coconut flavored rum. It really all depends how ‘coconutty’ you would like it to be! If you are looking for the strong coconut flavor of a pina colada, then you will want to use coconut flavored rum. If you just like the small hint of coconut then stick with regular light rum.
LIME
Always use fresh lime juice. I’d say you need about 1-2 limes. Usually the juice of half a lime can make about 1 oz of freshly squeezed lime juice. But again it all depends on the size. Plus you want extra if you are going to go in for seconds and as well as for your garnish.
MINT
You will need at least 4-5 mint leaves as well as a mint leaf sprig for garnish.
SIMPLE SYRUP
Simple syrup is very quick and easy to make from home. Of course you can always buy from the store, but with how simple it is to make (no pun intended) you really can just make your own! Just grab equal parts of water and equal parts of sugar. I like to usually do about 1/2 a cup – 1 cup of each. Boil them together until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and let cool. Store in a glass container in the refrigerator!
COCONUT CREAM OR MILK
You can use either coconut cream or coconut milk to make a Coconut Mojito. You can even use coconut water if you don’t want the creamy texture. However, using coconut water will change the taste a bit, as it may not be as flavorful! The main difference between the cream and milk will be the texture. Coconut Cream has more of a frosting pasty texture to it and the milk is more smooth, just like a regular milk or half and half.
COCONUT FLAKES (optional)
I love to use coconut flakes for this recipe as a garnish.
CILANTRO (optional)
I like to dice up Cilantro and add it as a garnish topping with the coconut flakes.
