Autumn Cranberry Orange Sangria: An Easy Fall Cocktail for a Crowd

If you’re planning a fall get-together and want a drink that looks beautiful without keeping you busy mixing cocktails all night, this Autumn Cranberry Orange Sangria belongs on your menu. Made with red wine, an entire bottle of Master of Mixes Red Sangria Mixer, cranberry juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, and orange liqueur, it’s fruity, festive, and so easy to put together.

Fresh orange slices and chopped grapes make the pitcher look extra pretty, while a splash of sparkling water gives each glass a refreshing finish. It’s the kind of drink I love for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or a casual fall girls’ night when everyone is gathered around the kitchen island with appetizers.

And can we talk about how nice it is to have the drinks ready before everyone arrives? Mix the sangria ahead of time, let it chill, and save the sparkling water for right before serving. That leaves more time to actually enjoy your company!

A Fall Sangria With Cranberry, Orange, and Red Wine

Cranberry and orange are such a pretty combination for autumn. The cranberry brings a little tartness, the orange adds bright citrus flavor, and the pineapple juice gives this sangria a sweet, fruity layer without taking over.

The red wine gives it a rich base, and the orange liqueur ties those citrus flavors together. With the fresh fruit floating throughout the pitcher, it feels festive enough for a holiday table but easy enough for a relaxed weekend gathering.

The Easy Shortcut: Master of Mixes Red Sangria Mixer

The key ingredient in this recipe is Master of Mixes Red Sangria Mixer. It brings a fruity foundation to the batch, so you can build on it with wine, juices, and fresh fruit without making a separate syrup.

This recipe uses the entire bottle, which is especially convenient when you’re making drinks for a group. Because there’s sweetness in the mixer and fruit juices, I’d pair it with a dry red wine and finish with plain sparkling water.

Everything comes together in one large pitcher or drink dispenser, making it an easy addition to your fall hosting plans.

Why You’ll Love This Autumn Cranberry Orange Sangria

  • Easy to prepare ahead: Mix the base before your guests arrive.
  • Full of fruity flavor: Cranberry, orange, pineapple, and grapes complement the red wine.

What Kind of Red Wine Should You Use?

For this cranberry orange sangria, choose a dry, fruity red wine such as Merlot, Tempranillo, or Garnacha.

You don’t need an expensive bottle. Pick something you enjoy drinking on its own, preferably with a softer, fruitier flavor rather than a heavily oaked finish.

I’d skip a sweet red blend for this particular recipe since the mixer, juices, and orange liqueur already bring plenty of sweetness.

Fresh Fruit Makes It Feel Extra Special

Thinly sliced oranges make this sangria look so pretty, especially in a clear pitcher. Cut the slices into half-moons so they’re easy to spoon into glasses, and chop or halve the grapes before adding them.

Red grapes look beautiful with the deep cranberry color, but green grapes work too if that’s what you have.

For a simple serving setup, set out glasses, a separate bucket of ice, and a small bowl of extra orange slices. It creates a pretty little drink station without needing much decorating.

Can You Make This Sangria Ahead of Time?

Yes! That’s one of the best things about serving sangria for a gathering.

Combine the wine, mixer, juices, orange liqueur, and fruit, then refrigerate for two to four hours before serving. This gives everything time to chill and the fruit flavors time to mingle.

If you’re preparing it the night before, mix the liquid base first and add the oranges and grapes a few hours before serving. Add the sparkling water at the very end so it keeps its bubbles.

Tips for Serving the Best Fall Sangria

Use a large enough container. This is a generous batch. Choose a drink dispenser that holds at least 1½ gallons, or divide it between two large pitchers.

Keep the ice separate. Add ice to individual glasses so it doesn’t melt into the entire batch.

Add bubbles last. Stir in chilled sparkling water just before serving, or add a splash directly to each glass.

Adjust after chilling. Give the cold sangria a taste before serving. If you prefer it lighter or less sweet, add a little extra plain sparkling water.

Watch the dispenser spout. If you’re using a drink dispenser, keep the chopped fruit away from the opening so it pours easily.

What to Serve With Autumn Cranberry Orange Sangria

I love the idea of serving this with a fall appetizer spread: a cheese board with sharp cheddar and crackers, baked Brie, warm spinach dip, or little puff pastry bites.

The fruity cranberry and citrus flavors make it a refreshing addition alongside richer holiday dishes, too. Set out a pitcher before Thanksgiving dinner, or serve it with appetizers while everyone catches up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this cranberry orange sangria sweet?

This is a fruity, sweet sangria with tartness from the cranberry juice. Dry red wine and unsweetened sparkling water help balance it. For a tarter batch, use unsweetened 100% cranberry juice instead of cranberry juice cocktail.

Can I use club soda instead of sparkling water?

Yes! Plain club soda works well. Add it just before serving to keep the sangria bubbly.

Does it need extra sugar?

There’s no added sugar or simple syrup in this recipe. The sangria mixer, orange liqueur, and fruit juices provide the sweetness.

How long can I keep leftover sangria?

Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container and enjoy within two to three days. Remove the orange slices after the first day to help prevent bitterness, and add fresh sparkling water when serving.

Can I make a smaller batch?

Yes. Halve every ingredient, including the sangria mixer, for a smaller gathering. The full recipe below is designed to use one entire 1-liter bottle.
